Many of my landscape studies are from class work at Fairfield Farm, a beloved farm of The Hotchkiss School.

Our art class visited the farm for three different seasons–fall, winter, and spring– to study the same scenery.

Inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson's Nature, I immersed myself in complete solitude.

"I become a transparent eye-ball; I am nothing; I see all; the currents of the Universal Being circulate through me; I am part or particle of God... In the tranquil landscape, and especially in the distant line of the horizon, man beholds somewhat as beautiful as his own nature."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
